Mean Green Mother from Outerspace is a song explicitly composed for the 1986 film (replacing the earlier demos Bad and Bad Like Me), though it subsequently found its way into a variety of stage productions, both amateur and professional.
The soundtrack album cut includes altered orchestration, additional verses, and ends similarly to the version featured in the Director's Cut of the film. Two different abridged and edited "radio" versions were issued as singles, and a 12" single featuring the "X-rated version" (which is merely the uncensored album cut) begins with a segue of the soundtrack album's prologue.

Mean Green Mother From Outer Space was the first song with profanity to be nominated for an Academy Award.
It was also the first song sung by a villain to be nominated
Mean Green Mother From Outer Space originally wasn't going to exist, instead a song titled Bad, was going to be used, and a demo of the song was included on the 2003 Broadway Revival Cast Soundtrack.
In the film version, the lyrics go "I got killer buds, a power stem/Nasty thorns and I'm usin' them!"
This song is made only for the film. Despite that, some amateur musicals added this song, but not professionals. One time a professional theatre added this song, was when it was briefly played in the 2016 UK Tour during the bows. Then in the London 2018 Revival, the full song was sung by Vicky Vox during the bows.
This song is featured in the Six Flags show, "Love at First Fright", a Halloween show that performs every October, where this is sung by Frankenstein, and in a clean version.
