Suppertime is a song from Little Shop of Horrors in which Mr. Mushnik tries to find Seymour guilty of killing Orin.
During the song, Audrey II sings to Seymour, although these are actually the thoughts in Seymour's mind, telling him what must be done. In the end, the only way to resolve the problem is to trick Mr. Mushnik into getting inside the plant, or in the 1986 movie’s case, backing him into it.
Variations[]
Each version of the song is different on the three major soundtrack albums. The 1986 movie soundtrack omits a verse from the stage versions and the dialogue between Mr. Mushnik and Seymour. The 1982 cast album includes the additional verse but no dialogue, and the 2003 cast album retains both the dialogue (which is different than in the movie) and the extra verse.

| I saw you chopping! | |||
| You've got nowhere to run | |||
| (Spoken) It's true! | |||
| I chopped him up! | |||
| But I didn't kill him! | |||
| He knows your life of crime! | |||
| Tell it to the police! | |||
| I think it's suppertime! | |||
| Come on, Come on, | |||
| Think about all those offers! | |||
| Come on, Come on, | |||
| Your future with Audrey! | |||

| I'm thinking, what if I kept my mouth shut | It's Suppertime | ||
| and gave you a one way ticket out of town? | Suppertime | ||
| You'd do that, sir? | Suppertime | ||
| You could lay low for a while, say | Come on, Come on | ||
| Thirty, Forty years | Come on, Come on | ||
| Meanwhile, I would keep the Plant | Come on, Come on | ||
| The plant? | Come on, Come on | ||
| Of course, you'd have to teach me how to take care of it, | Come on, Come on, | ||
| While you're away | It's Suppertime | ||
| Give me, your secret gardening tips | Suppertime | ||
| But then, if you'd rather hang | Come on, Come on | ||
| Come on, Come on | |||
| Come on, Come on | |||
| Come on, Come on | |||
| What do I have to do? | It's Suppertime | ||
| Just feed it. | It's Suppertime | ||
| Just feed it what? | Suppertime | ||
| Come on, Come on | |||
| Minerals | Come on, Come on | ||
| Yes? | Come on, Come on | ||
| On Thursdays, you should give it water. | Come on, Come on | ||
| Oh, yes | Come on, Come on | ||
| It's Suppertime | |||
| But whatever you do | It's Suppertime | ||
| Yes? | |||

| (Spoken) If you want something removed in a hurry, | |||

| (Spoken) What're you talking about? | |||
| This! A Dentist's uniform! | |||
| He's got your number now | |||
| I saw it last week, and didn't think twice | |||
| He knows just what you've done | |||
| And the little red dots seemed innocent enough | |||
| You've got no place to hide | |||
| But now I catch you kissing the Dentist's girlfriend? | |||
| You've got nowhere to run | |||
| And it begins to look like a motive! | |||
| He knows your life of crime! | |||
| Once he's out of the way, you move in right? | |||
| I think it's Suppertime! | |||
| I'm innocent! I'm innocent! | |||
| Then come with me to the police and tell them that! | |||
| He's got his facts all straight | |||
| Just so my conscience will rest easy | |||
| You know he's on your trail | |||
| If you don't, I'll have to go tell them myself. | |||
| He's gonna turn you in! | |||
| Now will you come? | |||
| They're gonna put you in jail! | |||
| Okay | |||
| He's U.S.D.A. prime, for my Suppertime | |||
| I'll go lock up, we'll head over | |||
| Come On, Come on, | |||
| Think about all those offers | |||
| Come on, Come on, | |||
| Your future with Audrey! | |||
| Come on, Come on, | |||
| Ain't no time to turn squeamish | |||
| Come on, Come on, | |||
| I swear on all my spores | |||
| When he's gone, the world will be yours! | |||
| Okay Seymour, let's go | |||
| Uh, don't you want to collect the days receipts | |||
| So you can deposit them in the morning? | |||
| You put them in the safe, didn't you? | |||
| Uh, no | Come on, Come on | ||
| Why not? | |||
| I forgot the combination | |||
| It's thousands of dollars! Where is it? | Come on, Come on | ||
| In the plant. | |||
| In the plant? | |||
| I thought it was the safest place | Come on, Come on | ||
| No thief would look in there, right? | It's Suppertime | ||
| The money's inside the plant? | |||
| So how am I supposed to get it? | Aw, Suppertime | ||
| Just Knock. | |||
| Knock? | Suppertime | ||
| (Knocks on the plant, which opens, and he steps inside, and the plant begins to close on him) | |||
